What pool service software has to do
Routes & scheduling
- Recurring route builder. Builds each technician's weekly route of recurring stops, with permanent route assignments and one-time changes for the day. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Route optimization. Reorders a route's stops to cut drive time, with set start and end points such as the office or a tech's home. Not on Unstack yet.
- Drag-and-drop and bulk route moves. Moves stops between days and technicians by drag and drop or in bulk, including rescheduling for weather and notifying affected clients. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Seasonal routes, openings and closings. Adjusts routes by season and schedules pool openings, closings and seasonal service cadences alongside weekly cleans. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Live GPS technician tracking. Shows technician locations, completed stops and upcoming jobs on one map, with route history and dispatch of the nearest tech. Not on Unstack yet.
- Online booking. Customers book service or request work from the company's website or Google, and the request lands in the schedule. Built for you by the AI builder.
- AI receptionist / AI phone. Answers calls and texts around the clock, gathers details, books jobs and keeps call summaries. Built for you by the AI builder.
Service visits & chemical logs
- Chemical readings entry at each stop. Technicians log water test results (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, CYA, temperature) in a few taps during each visit, stored against the pool's history. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Dosing recommendations. Calculates how much chlorine, acid, shock or other chemical to add from the readings and pool volume (Pool Brain adds a gallonage calculator), and records what the technician actually added. Built for you by the AI builder.
- LSI / water-balance calculator. Calculates the Langelier Saturation Index in real time (before and after dosing) so the tech can balance water to a target LSI; Skimmer and Pool Brain use Orenda's calculator. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Water-test device integrations. Pulls readings straight from a LaMotte SpinTouch tester over Bluetooth (or from WaterGuru / Pentair equipment) with no manual entry. Not on Unstack yet.
- Custom stop checklists with required items. Every service stop has a checklist; items can be recurring, optional or required, with photo requirements, so steps are not skipped. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Service report email with readings and pool photos. Emails the customer automatically when a stop is completed, with chemical readings, dosages, checklist items, the tech's name and onsite photos of the pool. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Multiple bodies of water per property. Keeps separate pricing, workflows, equipment, chemical use and tech pay for each pool or spa at the same property. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Offline technician app. Technicians keep working routes, readings and photos with no signal, and the app syncs when back online. Not on Unstack yet.
- Technician accountability alerts. Flags late starts, skipped stops, too little or too much time on site and out-of-range readings, and lets techs report field issues with photos; ProValet enforces proximity-based check-ins. Built for you by the AI builder.
Equipment & repairs
- Per-pool equipment records. Stores each pool's pumps, filters, heaters, cleaners and salt systems with make, model, serial number, install date, warranty and service history. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Warranty-expiry and equipment-age alerts. Notifies the office when equipment warranties are expiring or equipment is ageing, to prompt replacement sales. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Filter and salt-cell clean scheduling. Auto-creates filter and salt-cell cleaning jobs on a chosen schedule and updates the last-cleaned date when the job is done. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Equipment safety inspections. Inspections of pool equipment with ratings and photos, output as branded PDF reports. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Work orders for repairs and one-time jobs. Schedules one-time or recurring repairs outside routine cleans, each type with its own checklist, photo requirement, parts and invoicing rules. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Quotes and estimates with deposits. Sends repair or equipment quotes (with photos, optional line items or e-signature) that convert to jobs and invoices, collecting a deposit on approval. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Consumer financing for repairs and equipment. Offers the homeowner monthly-payment financing on larger repairs and equipment upgrades (Sunbit at Skimmer, Wisetack at Jobber). Not on Unstack yet.
Inventory & chemical cost
- Chemical usage and cost tracking. Tracks chemical use and cost by customer, property, body of water, technician and company, so chemical spend per pool is visible. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Truck and warehouse inventory. Shows stock on each truck and in the warehouse, deducts parts and chemicals used when a job closes (including the calculator's recommended dose), flags low stock and supports barcode scanning. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Shopping list and supplier ordering. Techs and admins add parts and chemicals to a shopping list from the field; Skimmer and Pool Brain integrate with Heritage Pool Supply to search the catalog and place orders. Built for you by the AI builder.
Invoicing & payments
- Recurring route billing (flat-rate or per-visit, in advance or arrears). Generates monthly invoices for route service, billed flat-rate or per visit, in advance or in arrears, and charges cards or ACH automatically. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Automatic chemical and parts charges on invoices. Adds chemicals and installed parts used on a visit to the invoice automatically so they are not left unbilled. Built for you by the AI builder.
- AutoPay, card on file and ACH. Collects recurring payments automatically from enrolled customers by card or bank, with failed-payment alerts and retries. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Card surcharging / convenience fees. Adds a transparent surcharge to card payments (or a fee by payment method) to offset processing costs. Not on Unstack yet.
- Overdue reminders and auto-suspend. Emails customers before and after the due date and can automatically suspend service for past-due accounts. Built for you by the AI builder.
Customer communication
- Customer portal. Customers see service history (Pool Brain shows past job and route-stop details; ServiceTitan's portal shows chemical readings), approve quotes, manage AutoPay and pay invoices. Install the Customer Portal template.
- Broadcast email and SMS. Sends bulk messages to customers segmented by tag, service day or technician, for route changes, weather delays or seasonal opening/closing promotions. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Automatic review requests. Asks customers for a Google or Facebook review after a job. Install the Reviews & Reputation template.
Reporting

- Technician scorecards and productivity reports. Scores technicians on service time, customer feedback, chemical spend and alert trends. Built for you by the AI builder.
- Billing and receivables reports. Reports invoicing, payments, customer balances, aged receivables and sales tax. Built for you by the AI builder.

- Open API. A public API for custom tools and automations (Skimmer only on Enterprise). Built for you by the AI builder.

Pool service software questions
What is Unstack?
A workspace your business runs in: the software your team uses every day, plus a phone line, email, a website, a customer portal, payments, team chat and AI employees. Start from a template or describe how you work, and the AI builder sets it up. One price per workspace, with unlimited users.
Is there a ready-made pool service template?
Not yet. You describe how your pool service business runs, from how jobs come in to how you get paid, and the AI builder sets up the tables, pages and automations in your workspace. Change anything later the same way.
Can Unstack track chemical inventory automatically?
Yes. Log chemical usage on each visit and keep a reorder level on each product, and an automation alerts you when stock runs low. Usage reports can break it down by pool or season.
Does Unstack work offline for technicians in the field?
No. Unstack needs an internet connection, so it doesn't work offline. Technicians can use it on the job in their phone's browser or the iPhone app wherever there's signal or Wi-Fi.
How does Unstack compare to ServiceTitan for pool companies?
Those are fixed products you configure. With Unstack, the AI builder creates the software around how your pool company works, and you can change any part of it by asking. It's priced per workspace rather than per user.
Can I integrate Unstack with my accounting software?
Unstack syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero. Connect your account and the builder can set up an automation that sends invoices and payments across, so they aren't typed in twice. Card payments run through Stripe.
Can I keep water quality records for health inspections?
Yes. Readings and service logs are saved on each pool's record, and you can export them by customer or date range as CSV. Check with your health department on the format they need.
Can customer portals show past service history?
Yes. Each customer can log in to view completed service visits, chemical logs, next scheduled date, and outstanding balance. You customize what information each portal displays.
Does Unstack send automatic appointment reminders?
Yes. Automations can send text and email reminders 24 or 48 hours before each appointment. Texting is on paid plans.
Do I pay per user?
No. Unstack is priced per workspace, so adding a technician or an office manager does not change the bill.
