Pages: what they are and how to change them
A page is a screen in your app: a list of jobs, a customer's details, a dashboard. This article explains how pages are made, changed and arranged.
How pages are made
The AI builder writes each page as real code and builds it for you. You do not need to read or write code to use Unstack. You describe the page, and the builder makes it.
Automatic table pages
A page that is connected to a table but has no custom design shows an automatic table view. It lists the table's records with search, a New Record button and actions on each row. It is a quick way to start working with a new table. You can ask the builder to replace it with a custom page at any time.
Create a page
- Ask the builder: "Make a page that lists open jobs with customer, technician and due date."
- Or click + at the bottom of the sidebar while on the App tab and choose New page. Give it a name. You get an empty page, which you then ask the builder to fill in.
Change a page
Open the page, open the builder and say what to change. For example:
- "Add a status filter at the top."
- "Show the total value of the jobs in this list."
- "When I click a row, open the job's detail page."
The builder edits the page and the result appears when it finishes.
Arrange your pages
Pages are listed in the App tab. You can:
- Collect pages into groups with New page group in the + menu.
- Mark the pages you use most as favorites. They stay at the top.
- Choose how groups look in Settings, General: as folders that open and close, or as flat headings.
The code editor
If you or someone on your team wants to work on the code directly, open Tools and choose Code Editor. This is optional.
Limits
On the Free plan an app can have up to 10 custom pages. Paid plans have no page limit.
Who sees a page
Your team sees your pages when they sign in. Which pages a role can open is set under Tools, Team & Access, Roles & Permissions.
