Publish changes and restore an earlier version
Changes the AI builder makes go live automatically unless you choose to review them first. Either way, your app keeps a version history you can restore from.
Automatic publishing
New apps publish automatically. When the builder finishes a task, its changes are live in your app straight away. There is nothing for you to click.
Review before publishing
To check changes before your team sees them, turn automatic publishing off:
- Open the builder.
- Open the menu at the top of the chat and choose Settings.
- Under Publishing, switch Publish automatically off.
From then on the builder's changes are staged. They stay invisible to your team until you publish them.
Publish staged changes
- The Publish button at the top of the builder shows how many changes are waiting. Click it to publish them all.
- The arrow next to it opens Review staged changes, where you can see what was created, modified or deleted, and discard changes you do not want.
- Pages and code publish together: every staged change goes live at once.
- When pages have been built but not published, the App tab also shows a note with a Publish button.
Version history
Unstack saves snapshots of your app as you build. To see them:
- Click the Version history button at the top of the builder, or
- Open Tools, Data & API, then the Version History tab.
You can also save one yourself with Take Snapshot, for example before a large change.
Restore a snapshot
Click Restore next to a snapshot. Restoring:
- Puts back the tables, pages, automations, agents and role settings as they were saved in that snapshot.
- Keeps what you added since then, including newer pages and your table records. A restore does not delete your data.
- Saves a backup of the current state first, so you can undo the restore.
Which one should you use
If you are the only person using the app, automatic publishing is the simplest. If your team works in the app all day, consider turning it off, so half-finished work does not appear in front of them.
