Import and export your data

You can bring records in from a CSV file, export any table to CSV or JSON, and download everything in an app at once. All three are on one page.

Where it is

Open the Tools tab, choose Data & API, then the Import / Export tab. You need a role that allows import and export. Owners and admins have it.

Import a CSV file

Create the table first, with the fields you want to fill. Then, on the Import tab:

  1. Select Type: choose the table you are importing into.
  2. Upload File: drag the file in or click to browse. The file must be a CSV. If your data is in a spreadsheet, save it as CSV first.
  3. Map Columns: match each column in your file to a field in the table.
  4. Validate: review any problems before anything is saved.
  5. Complete: the rows are added. You see how many succeeded and how many failed.

Past imports are listed below the import steps with their status and counts.

Tips for a clean import

Export a table

On the Export tab:

  1. Choose a table.
  2. Tick the fields to include.
  3. Optionally set a from date and a to date.
  4. Choose CSV or JSON and export.

Download everything

The Compliance tab has Full Data Export. Export All App Data downloads one JSON file with the app's tables, pages, settings, team members and all records. Use it when you want a full copy of your data.

Your data is yours

You can export on any plan. Take a full export before you change plan, cancel or delete an app.
