Find your way around your app
Everything in an app is reached from the sidebar on the left. This article explains what each part of it is for.
The top of the sidebar
- The Unstack logo takes you Back to the Hub, where you see all your apps and your workspace settings.
- The app name next to it is a switcher. Click it to move to another app, start a New app, or go back to the Hub.
The four tabs
- App is the software the builder made for you. Your pages are listed here, with favorites at the top. Pages can be collected into groups.
- Chat holds your conversations: the Unstack Builder, your AI agents, team channels and direct messages.
- Tools lists what is built into every app. Depending on your plan and role you will see items such as Automations, Integrations, Payments, Portal, Website, Code Editor, Marketplace, Phone, Domains, Team & Access, Data & API and Settings. Your docs and files are at the bottom of this tab.
- Inbox collects your notifications and anything waiting for your approval.
On a phone the same four tabs sit in a bar at the bottom of the screen.
The bottom of the sidebar
- Marketplace opens the template marketplace.
- The builder button turns builder mode on and off. Its tooltip reads Enter builder mode or Exit builder mode.
- The + button creates things. What it offers depends on the tab you are on: a new page or page group, a new doc or folder, a new agent or channel.
- Your picture opens your own menu: Settings, Support (the Help Center and Report a Bug), the light, dark or system theme, and Log out.
You can collapse the sidebar to a narrow strip of icons and expand it again.
Settings
Settings opens as a window over your app. It has three parts:
- Account: your name, password and two-factor authentication.
- App: General (name and logo), Brand & Design, Auth (the sign-in page at your app address) and Notifications.
- Billing & Usage: your plan and what the app is using.
Team, domains, tables, API keys and data import and export are not in Settings. They are pages in the Tools tab.
If something is missing
What you see depends on two things. Your role decides which pages and tools you can open, so ask an owner or admin if you need more. Your plan decides which features the workspace has. A feature your plan does not include is shown with a lock.
